Our next Bison Spotlight is an Accelerated Accounting major with a minor in Criminal Justice, Meghan Campbell. Meghan is a member and the Treasurer of the Nichols College Dance Team. A fun fact about Meghan is that she will be a third-generation Nichols grad.
This past summer, Meghan interned with Fidelity Investments as their Manager of Workplace Investments Business Strategy and Operations Team. During her time at Fidelity, she would assist with back-office projects to help with clients. Meghan also created meeting PowerPoint’s and attended various meetings with co-workers from locations all across the U.S. and India. Every day was different for Meghan. She would go in and continue working on a previous project assigned for the week or she would be assigned small daily projects.
Meghan said that her favorite thing during her internship was “I got to help assist with a laptop budget for six vice presidents and over 3,000 associates. This budget consisted of over $800,000 and I got to help create a plan on how to spend it and when was the best time to spend it.”
A key takeaway that Meghan discovered from her internship was “Networking is key. Even if the internship isn’t what you might want to do, there are so many opportunities within the same company to explore.”
Meghan really enjoyed working for the company of Fidelity. When asked if there was anything else she would like to include about her experience, she said, “Fidelity is a great company to work for. They value their employees so much and are focused on making their work environment comfortable for all employees.”
We want to thank you, Meghan, for taking the time to share your experience with us. We wish you the best of luck in your future career!
