From Senior in College to Freshman in Life Recap

We kicked off October with our From Senior in College to Freshman in Life event. This was hosted on October 1st, 2019 in Daniels Auditorium. Two alumni returned to the Hill, Jeff Thomas ’12 and Taylor Ross ‘13, to provide their perspectives on how to have a successful transition into your life after Nichols College. They discussed topics such as Pre-Graduation Planning, Career Paths, Personal Finances, Investments and Retirement Planning. We hosted two back-to-back sessions and had a combined total of 126 student participants.

Our students absolutely loved hearing Jeff and Taylor speak. Some feedback we received from our students was:

“It was very informative and nice hearing from Nichols alum. They are both great connections for us.”

“This event was amazing. It contained many good tips to maximize your success following graduation. I would go twice if I could.”

“Jeff and Taylor were fantastic, I took a lot away from the event especially pertaining to my personal finances and loans.”

“The speakers lowered my level of stress about after college concerns’ I feel so much better about it now.”

Based on participant’s feedback, it was clear how much our students valued and appreciated Nichols alum speaking about their struggles and advice. This event provided students with more understanding of what to expect in the next few years once you graduate as well as a great opportunity to network with fellow Bison.

Thank you to both Jeff and Taylor for sharing your experiences and insights with our students. We also want to thank everyone who helped us put together this successful event. We look forward to hosting similar events like this in the upcoming future.
