The next Bison Spotlight is a junior from Paxton, MA, Jocelyn Nace. She is a Marketing major, with a minor in Sport Management. Here on The Hill, she is involved in the Marketing Club, Sport Management Club and a part of the Emerging Leaders Program. Jocelyn has two work-study jobs, one as a Student Manager in Fels, and the other is working in Admissions for the Call Center. When Jocelyn isn’t busy with her extracurricular activities, she enjoys hanging out with friends, playing sports and watching hockey. Her favorite hockey team is the Boston Bruins.

This past summer, Jocelyn was a Community Relations Intern at the Worcester Railers Hockey Club. In this role, she was in charge of social media for multiple community outreach programs.

When asked about her experience as an intern, she said, “Many times, I was working out of the office. Either at an elementary school spree day or a 5k to raise money for an organization. My job was to promote the Worcester Railers to the community and at the same time help the community. I attended Season Ticket events that were just for those fans who are season ticket holders, multiple spree days, fireworks and town fairs, and Learn to Skates for the children in the summer.”

Her favorite thing she did while completing her internship was, “Meeting and learning about how the Worcester Railers impact the community. It was very impactful seeing everyone from different age groups come out and support the events, such as the 5ks, to give back to the place where they live.”

Jocelyn said her take away from this internship was, “It was a great learning experience to be in control of a professional social media page. I oversaw posting social media content to Trax, the Railer’s mascot page to help promote the community programs that were put on throughout the summer.”

Thank you, Jocelyn, for taking the time to share your experience with us. The CPDC Team wishes you the best of luck with your future career!
