Bison Spotlight – CJ Baker

We shift our attention to CJ Baker for our next Bison Spotlight. CJ is currently a sophomore and will be graduating in May 2022 with a degree in Business Management and a certificate in Entrepreneurship. CJ is from Hoosick Falls, New York. On The Hill, he is a member of the Emerging Leaders Program, the Marketing Club and played JV Basketball. Outside of school, he really enjoys playing basketball with his friends and shopping for high-end, fashionable clothing.

Over the summer, CJ completed an academic internship with Mack Molding located in Arlington, Vermont. At Mack Molding, his role was a Sales and Engineering Intern. He primarily worked on two software systems, Agile and Tulip. Agile is a manufacturing record-keeping system where CJ tracked purchase orders or tools the company bought. In Tulip, CJ mainly created digital work instructions. A normal day for CJ involved working from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., meetings with his supervisor, working in Agile and Tulip as well as helping out on the manufacturing line. CJ commented on his experience and stated, “It was pretty fun and was a good learning experience”.

When asked about his favorite thing during his internship, CJ replied, “I really enjoyed the weekly team meetings. I learned a lot about how the business world works and how to effectively work with customers. I also enjoyed working with the many other interns too”. One piece of advice that CJ gave to others was, “8 hour days can be pretty long, create your own business to work on your own terms and hours”.

We want to give a big thank you to CJ for sharing your internship experience with us! The CPDC wishes you the best of luck in your future aspirations.
