The Career and Professional Development Center hosted its annual Business by the Numbers career fair on Tuesday, September 9th in Daniels Auditorium. This event is specifically geared toward finance and accounting majors, providing students with a chance to connect with employers in those fields, gain valuable insight into industry expectations, and start building connections that could lead to internships or job opportunities.
This year, 23 employers attended the fair, and there were over 150 students in attendance. Some of the organizations included The Cigna Group, Travelers, Lockton, AAFCPAs, Citrin Cooperman, Grant Thornton, and CBIZ, along with several local firms and financial institutions. It was a great mix of companies offering internships, full-time positions, general career advice, and opportunities to learn about rotational and leadership development programs designed for recent graduates.
Students had the opportunity to network and learn more about what employers are looking for in future hires. For many, it was a helpful way to explore potential career paths and practice professional communication skills. It was also great to see 22 Nichols alumni return to campus representing their companies. Many of them have gone on to land roles in finance, accounting, and leadership programs after graduating. Seeing alumni in these positions gave students a real-life insight at where a Nichols degree can take them.

The strong participation from both students and employers made this year’s fair a standout, and we’re excited to continue hosting events that help students grow and prepare for their careers.
