Internship Description: Better Business Bureau of Central New England is looking for a motivated, inquisitive and fair-minded college student interested in gaining valuable experience in business ethics, consumer protection, scam prevention, business operations, marketing/public relations, and written communication. This position offers the opportunity to work on content for electronic newsletters, a prominent website and social media. This is an unpaid internship offered for course credit based on written approval by college/university faculty or career services personnel. INTERN WILL LEARN ABOUT: BBB history, mission and brand style guide, Common consumer and/or business scams, Business trends, Writing and editing, Visual communication, and Social media. PRIMARY DUTIES: Research various scams and business topics and write content for consumer and business newsletters, Collaborate on creative ways to repurpose newsletter website content for Instagram, Assist with identifying relevant stock images, taking original photos and creating original videos for newsletter articles and Instagram, Assist in planning newsletter content, Provide support for minor administrative duties and/or BBB events, QUALIFICATIONS: Working toward an associate’s or bachelor’s degree, preferably with coursework in business, criminal justice, writing, public relations, economics, or psychology, Experience writing news articles or newsletter copy, Strong research and analytical capabilities, including internet research, Experience with social media, especially Instagram, Experience taking admirable photographs and/or video footage, Ability to take direction well and follow through with assignments on a timely basis, Good communication, grammatical and interpersonal skills, Creative and strategic thinking skills, Technically savvy, including experience using Microsoft Office software and Gmail, Responsible and resourceful.
