We are seeking an experienced HR and Benefits Manager to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
The HR and Benefits Manager is responsible for managing the routine functions of the HR department including administering pay, vacation/sick time, and enforcing company policies and practices. They will also manage the administration of all benefits and retirement programs including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, and 401(k) plan.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily workflow of the HR/Payroll Department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Typical Duties:
- Partners with the ownership team to understand and execute Smarter Healthcare Partner’s Human Resource strategy.
- Researches and maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (particularly as it relates to Travel Nursing/Healthcare Staffing) and recommends best practices.
- Reviews policies and practices and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Assists employees regarding benefits questions, claim issues, and plan changes.
- Manages open enrollment process.
- Manages 401(k) enrollment process. Assists employees with 401(k) inquiries, plan changes, contribution amounts, etc.
- Assists with payroll process.
- Develops and implements a more efficient onboarding process for new Travel Nurses joining the company.
- Develops and implements onboarding and training process for new internal employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Required Experience/Education:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 2-years recent experience working in a Human Resources/Benefits Administrator role.
