As the semester wraps up we successfully completed our last event of the year, the Board of Advisors Speed Networking Event. We hosted this event alongside Advancement and Alumni Relations. The Board of Advisors Speed Networking Event is a chance for current Nichols students to speak with several members of the Board of Advisors and learn about their journey after Nichols as well as ask any questions they may have. This year we had a very successful turn out with 25 Advisors and 24 students participating.
Students were grateful for the chance to meet and speak with the Advisors with one student saying:
“This event was amazing! I loved being able to network one on one with these alumni, though many of them were not within the field I’m am going for their advice was still wonderful to hear. They were all wonderful to speak to and I was able to learn a lot from this event. It was not only rewarding as I relearned new things but it was also so much fun. I was a little afraid going into it but as soon as I sat down with that first person my nerves went right away. I would love to attend another event like this!”

Advisors also enjoyed the event and shared some of their thoughts. Advisor Amber Martin stated:
“I loved networking and connecting with current students. It was rewarding to have guiding conversations with them and share stories.”
Advisor Michele Austin also attended the event and shared her thoughts with us saying:
“This is my favorite event of any meeting. I so enjoy interacting with the students.”
During this event, students have the opportunity to ask questions and receive advice from Advisors.
