Prep for the Process : Landing the Town, State or Federal Gig Recap

On October 8th, 2019, we hosted our Prep for the Process: Landing the Town, State, or Federal Gig event. This was a two-part workshop and took part in rooms Davis 205/207 and Davis 109. During this event, students learned how to best prepare for opportunities in respective fields.

We had three professional guests, Trooper Venessa Gasior, Sergeant Marek Karlowicz and Senior Special Agent John Mazza provide some information on the requirements for employment, the application process, and career opportunities/benefits. As a total, we had over 40 students that participated and attended Prep for the Process.

One student stated their overall experience with the event and commented, It was great! Very informative”.

Another student mentioned the connection they made between themselves and a host. He stated, “I really enjoyed my conversation with SA John Mazza. He was helpful and available to answer any questions I might have. He also gave me a business card for reference.

Prep for the Process allowed students to gain insight into the application process for certain positions and learn about career opportunities and benefits within our hosts’ respective fields.

Much appreciation to Trooper Venessa Gasior, Sergeant Marek Karlowicz and Senior Special Agent John Mazza, for coming and speaking with our students. We are grateful for your knowledge and willingness to speak about your careers. We also want to say thank you to everyone who helped us create and set up the Prep for the Process event. We cannot wait to host another successful event!
