The Bourne Braves have enjoyed a long history of offering internships to college students who have worked in a myriad of capacities and performed any number of duties for the organization. Interns support everything from public relations, fundraising and concessions to field maintenance, internet broadcasting and baseball operations. In fact, former Cape League president Judy Walden Scarafile and Dick Bresciani of the Boston Red Sox began their careers as interns with the Cape Cod Baseball League. While the organization maintains its own staff, we utilize 25+ interns per season.
The Game Day Operations interns are responsible for all areas of fan engagement at all Braves home games. Responsibilities include setting up field, working the gate, running the 50/50 raffle, working in the concession stand and souvenirs store, running any giveaways or other fan engagement activities and cleaning up the field.
REQUIREMENTS
To serve as a franchise intern, Cape Cod accommodations are required, even if said accommodations are temporary in nature. You are required to secure your own housing. Interns must also provide their own mode of reliable transportation. Internships are not paid positions. It is expected that interns secure paid employment during their stay on Cape Cod. All interns must be available for every home game throughout the regular season & playoffs. Some positions are also required to attend away games.
Interns will report the 1st week of June and work through mid August.
Interns are not paid.
You may have other jobs if they don’t interfere with our schedule.
Credit may be available, but that is to be defined by your school.
Our volunteers (including Board) work as a team. We may have specific jobs but help each other out when needed.
Interns will arrive at the field at least one and a half hour before game to set up and stay after the game until everything is cleaned up and finished.
