Job Summary:
- Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern to join our team to support safety activities in East Hartford, CT and Middletown, CT.
- This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced aerospace environment while contributing to the safety and well-being of our employees and the communities in which we operate.
- As Pratt & Whitney continues to innovate and expand its operations, there is a growing need for skilled professionals in environmental, health, and safety disciplines.
- An EHS intern will provide a resource to the Central Corporate Safety Team, East Hartford, CT, and Middletown, CT EH&S teams to facilitate progress to key programs.
- An EH&S intern will play a vital role in supporting Pratt & Whitney’s commitment to continuous improvement in safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of health, and safety programs and procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards in the workplace.
- Support incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of accidents or near-misses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental, health, and safety.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of safety training programs.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement in EH&S initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a degree program in Safety or related field.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
