Emergency Management students prepare to lead organizations and communities through disasters, emergencies, and other complex challenges. Students develop expertise in preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation, crisis leadership, and resilience through hands-on learning, real-world projects, and internship opportunities. Graduates are equipped to make informed decisions in high-pressure environments and build safer, more resilient communities across the public, private, nonprofit, and healthcare sectors.
Our Emergency Management faculty have served in emergency management, disaster response, public health preparedness, humanitarian relief, higher education, government, and nonprofit leadership. Drawing on decades of real-world experience responding to major disasters, leading complex incidents, and advancing the profession through research and education, our faculty prepares students for meaningful careers protecting people, organizations, and communities.
